We have to be in the top 5 with most nominations in the Health & Life Section, Martial Arts School category in order to compete for votes between Oct. 22 and Dec. 2. Jul. 15, 2018 - Sensei Stephen Robinson was named as the U.S. member to the World Union of Karate Federations (WUKF) Referee Commission, the first American to join this elite 7-member council in 23 years. Mr. Robinson will continue judgment, arbitration, training of other officials at international events, as well as examine and decide rule amendments and interpretation with other members of the Commission.
Jun. 26-Jul 4, 2018 - Dojo will be closed as 18 athletes, 3 coaches, 4 officials, and 25 parents and siblings travel to Ft. Lauderdale for the AAU/USA Karate National Championships. Competition days will be Thu-Sat. Jun 28-30.
Jun. 12, 2018 - Five Best Karate black belts flew to Scotland to compete in the World Union Karate Federation World Championships. Good luck to Alex, JJ, Erin, Aydan, and Maya. Look for Live Streamining of competition action on June 14, 15, 16 at wukf-karate.org
Apr. 14, 2018 - Twenty Best Karate athletes will be competing at the AAU Karate VA State Championship in Richmond. Dojo will be closed on Saturday, April 14.
Mar. 23, 2018 - US Team members from this dojo will initiate a FUNraiser and will request your support. Help our five athletes get to Scotland!!!

Mar. 3, 2018 - Triangle's Best Karate, athletes, coaches, and parents hosted the AAU Karate NC State & District Championships.
Jan. 16, 2018 - 26 athletes joined the 2018 competition team and began new conditioning techniques 3X a week.
Dec. 9, 2017 - 42 people tested for new ranks.
Sep. 9, 2017 - 24 people tested for new ranks.
Oct. 15, 2017 - Eight athletes from TBK were selected to the National Team Pool to compete at international events in 2017-18. Congratulations to Erin Cutler, Aydan Gwisdalla, Alexander Horsky, Gene Kim, Ken Schiman, Maya Starr, Asia Yu-Robinson and J.J. Yu-Robinson.
May 20, 2017 - Triangle's Best Karate will host the AAU Karate SuperRegional for the Southeast United States in Apex, NC. The venue will be the Middle Creek Community Center in Apex.
Apr. 14, 15, 16, 2017 - The Dojo will be closed for Easter Weekend.
Apr. 3-10, 2017 - Sensei Stephen Robinson will be representing the U.S. as one of three Senior U.S. Referees at the World United Karate Federation European Championships.
Mar. 18, 2017 - Best Karate hosted the North Carolina State Championships in Charlotte, NC. More than 15 different clubs and 160 athletes competed at this event to qualify for AAU Karate National Events in 2017.

Mirza, Chairman of AAU Karate and Head of TKO International, will be overseeing our Black Belt Test on Friday, Sep. 30, and giving the BudoFest Kumite Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 1. Jul. 7, 2016 - Congratulations to Triangle's Best Karate for being recognized as one of Top 20 Dojos in the U.S. for bringing a spirited 16 athletes, 2 coaches, and 4 officials to the AAU Karate National Championships. And congratulations to Sempai Asia Yu-Robinson for winning one of the coveted AAU Karate scholarships. Asia has competed for 12 years straight, like National Teammater and co-winner Andrea Shugar of Cincinnati. Asia will be attending Appalachian State University in August 2016.
JUN. 17-19, 2016 -- Ten athletes from Triangle's Best Karate in Raleigh, North Carolina, were selected by AAU Karate for the WUKF Karate World Championships in Dublin, Ireland (June 17-19, 2016). Salaheldien Abuahmad, Randall John, Thomas Dang, Asia Yu-Robinson, and JJ Yu-Robinson committed to training karate 15 hours a week beyond regular schoolwork, karate classes, music, dance, EMT, and other commitments. Thanks to family, friends, and the Best Karate boosters club who donated funds for their travel and wished them well.

JJ Yu-Robinson, Gold Medal Mini-Cadet 3-pt Sparring, 4th place Mini-Cadet Shotokan Kata/Forms (55 contestants).
Thomas Dang, won one match Juniors Middle Weight 3-pt sparring.
Salaheldien Abuahmad, won one match Juniors Heavy weight 3-pt sparring.
Randall John, placed 15th in Cadet Shotokan Kata/Forms (48 contestants)
